Additions

They story starts Friday.  I called the girls schools and told them I'd pick them up from school.  I pick up Leah 1st.  She says, "SOOOO......"  I say, "we are picking up the dog!"  She says, "That is an AMAZING DISAPPOINTMENT!  I thought all day Aunt Cassie had her baby!"  Ok, so I am not mother of the year.  Next we get Ash, she jumps in, the twins yell, "WE ARE GETTING THE DOG!"  And all we hear is "YEAHHHH!!!!"  And honestly, tears of joy!!!  (now that's a response). Then we grab Megan, who was very excited about the dog, but was wishing for the baby as well :)
So there he is!  Cute little fur ball!  The girls are in love with him and he is in love with them.  He doesn't cry when they are around.  He's not so much a fan of being stuck home with me.  The twins are convinced he is going to eat them (at least that is how they scream)  I really pray they warm up to him soon.

Onto a better surprise!!  A new niece/cousin!!  She is perfect and beautiful in every way!!!  As you know we are partial to girls, but we love the boys too :)  There have been many conversations from the twins on how that baby came out! (the answer is "God took it out")  And Brooke was glad we gave it clothes because she thought it was naked!   But we got to go up and see her and hold her!!  Oh that fresh baby smell and soft skin.  Perfect in every way.  Our God is so amazing!  When you look at a precious little one, how could you not whole heartedly believe in our Creator!  Congrats Jon and Cassie!!!  She is amazing just like her parents!!!  We are in LOVE!!  (She's even better than the puppy:)

Feeding therapy

Wednesday afternoon Brooke and I headed to to the Spa.  I texted Steve, "ok we are on our way, and I'm even in a good mood."  (As you know feeding therapy and I don't get along)  Steve texted back, "already praying."  (That boy knows what I need :)  So we get there, do the paper work and wait.  Brooke says, "This is taking FOREVER!"  At that point I was a little worried.  But we got in. Went through Brooke's history (that took awhile).  The therapist was excited Brooke has no limitations.  She is allowed to eat whatever she wants.  No food allergies, no medical conditions that limits her feeding.  So she said, "great this is behavioral!"  I am glad she was excited about it.  I told her, "this just seems dumb.  Just eat already!"  She just laughed and agreed.  Seems so simple.  I also told her my ultimate goal is to get her to eat with out going to intensive feeding clinic.  She just said, "all we can do is try."  All in all, it went well.  We are going to try 2 times a week.  She said it would be good to have Macy with to help prompt Brooke (and that helps me ALOT).  So we have it scheduled through May.  Then we will evaluate how life is going and how Brooke is doing.  At that time Steve will also be back in the picture to help.  I don't expect we will get rid of her feeding button anytime soon, but if we could get her to eat a meal or 2 with us, that'd be nice.
However, Macy is into fighting about EVERY MEAL SHE EATS!!!  So I actually told her, I wish she had a button, then I wouldn't have to argue with her.  I am starting to think I have issues, hehehe.  My other 3 eat everything, all the time.  What is wrong with these 2?  Maybe we all need a little therapy :)
Speaking of issues, look at these 2?!?!  They actually had all 5 of them in there, but I missed that photo opportunity.  Don't we all wish parenting was this easy?

Oh yes!  Planting!!!  Steve texted me these pics saying "look mom no hands"  It's called auto steer.  He DOESN'T even have to steer the tractor! Now that is one spoiled farmer!
Feeding therapy is not for the weak!  It's tiring!!

No news is good news?

It was brought to my attention I haven't updated this in awhile.  I guess we are boring, and tired :)  Steve has not started planting yet, but we had a 1 week trial run, where he worked late getting the ground ready.  I realized 3 year old twins can really kick your butt!!  They ask the same thing over and over and over.  Til you evaluate, is what they are asking going to compromise their health, safety or morals?  If they answer is no, then "FINE GO AHEAD!!"  That usually ends up in a big mess of some sort for me to clean up.  Crazy girls!  They have my number.
Speaking of numbers, Brooke's immune studies did come back.  Their "plan" was to get back her numbers and then give her "live" vaccines.  MMR and varivax.  After evaluating her numbers the MD's said, "no shots."  Which she was happy about, but that means she isn't where we want her.  I wouldn't say she is holding her own, but she isn't dropping immensely either.  Does that make sense?  It is what it is.  We have been taking her out and living a normal life.  She goes to church and I do enjoy going as a family again.  Feels so normal and right.  She still has her runny nose and cough from beginning of March, but I am still holding out she will get rid of this on her own.  It's not terrible, so we will wait.
Next week she starts out patient feeding clinic at Spectrum.  We will see what they have to say.  She's been eating better.  She enjoys pizza and still her old stand bys: wheat thins and Cheetos.  We just keep trying and praying that she can do this.
Potty training is going well!!  I dare say we are a diaper free house hold!!!  WHOOO HOOO!!  With her bowel issues I'd say it's a miracle she is doing this.  But she is.  You go Brookie Bear!!
The only other thing going on is..........we have a new addition coming!!!  I have your attention :)  It's just a dog.  I have an adorable 7 year old girl that has been BEGGING for a dog for well over a year.  We have consistently said no.  I told Steve a couple months ago, "just so you don't get mad, just plan on seeing a dog some night when you come home from planting."  I again have no reason anymore to say no.  I told Ash to pray about it, and if God brings a dog her way that Steve and I approve of, it's all hers.  Well, the first time I told someone, "let me know if you hear of any free dogs,"  we had a winner.  So we'll get it in a week or so, and I have some VERY excited girls (not the twins they hate dogs hehe). I'll post pics when we get the little fella!   Oh boy oh boy, what have I done :)

Funny Story

I must set the story with a confession. I rarely iron. I am not ashamed to admit it. We don't have many clothes that need to be ironed. I will occasionally do the Sunday am, quick iron a shirt or pants. My favorite trick is to iron Steve's collars with the curling iron or hair straightener. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Do my hair and have my man look sharp :) Anyway, one would just assume your children know what an ironing board is. We do own one!
While walking through Target, 1 of my children (not the twins, so an older one :) says, "hey mom, I didn't know they sold surf boards at Target!" I laughed and laughed and laughed!! I should be ashamed but I'm not! I did educate her on what it was, but I have not taken mine out to show her we have one. HEHEHE! We'll see which of the ladies grows up to be the most domestic.

Happy Spring Break to everyone. Brooke had her immune studies drawn today. So we'll see what those show in a couple weeks. They asked if I signed them up for school yet. I had to tell them even though I made a big deal awhile back about them being ABLE to go to school, doesn't mean I am sending them yet. They are my last 2 little ladies home. I need more time :) They'll get there, when the time is right.
