Almost Christmas

Dec 24, 2008 we went to Spectrum for Brooke's chemo treatment and we ended up staying til May 11, 2009. That was a long stay! WELL......Steve went to clinic Monday and Brooke has a broviac that is "leaking." They did some tests and said it would be ok til January when they scheduled removal. They wanted us to flush it and come in next week. I tried to flush it last night and it got all red, puffed up and she screamed. Well that didn't work! So I called clinic today and they scheduled Brooke for her line to be removed tomorrow, Dec. 24. How ironic! Brooke is just a fan of Holidays :) This is just outpatient and quick, so we aren't staying but old memories do come back. I must say though, the memories aren't bad. I was reminded last year, it doesn't matter where you spend Christmas, it's who you are with. It makes us remember what the true season of Christmas is. It's not the running around, busyness and presents. It's Jesus miraculous birth!
So, once again everything falls into place. Steve's mom was already babysitting, I was suppose to work, so we just change that, Steve moves his schedule and we are off. It will be nice to have Brooke with only one "boob" tube.
We did open presents tonight as a family. It was so fun to see the girls excitement. Steve and I like to play with their toys too :) Steve got the MP3 player loaded with songs and I've had Bump it's in my hair. So easily entertained :)
