The good, the bad, but never ugly :)

We got another call from the bone marrow team. 1st the good. They decided Brooke can be seen ever other week. So, no clinic on Monday. What shall we do with our time?
2nd the, so-so. Not bad but not good. Brooke had a reaction to the Bactrim she was on. She had reacted to it inpatient but we thought we'd try. Because if it worked she could get off an IV she gets once a month to ward off infections. But this week she got a delightful rash, so the next time she goes to clinic she'll get the IV instead. However, she tends to get screaming fits after the IV. Pick your poison I guess?
They also got another blood test back. This one shows how well Brooke's T cells react to stress/illness. They draw a control "normal person" and Brooke. Normal would be at least 70%. Brooke was at 0-2%. She had 1 cell that reacted around 10%. That was the same as in June. So no improvement there. I was going to say, at least it didn't get worse but you can't get worse than 0%. So we wait. We will continue to give her the IV every other day until we check those cells again. Probably in 3-6 months.
As for health, we all have colds! Bummer!! We stayed healthy for so long, it was bound to happen. So far it's just head colds, buckets O' snot every where. You realize when 1 toddler has a runny nose they wipe there nose everywhere. When 2 toddlers have a cold, watch out! If we leave the house without snot on our clothes, it's a good day :) So far Brooke is tolerating it ok. (Maybe better than Steve and I :)
If nothing changes this week I may not post anything. No clinic days! So I hope to get Christmas presents bought and wrapped. We also have a fun wedding to participate in on Saturday. Can't wait! Have a great week everyone!!
