So much to say!!!

Well there goes another week in the Koeman household. Last week Brooke went to see Dr. Wood (endocrinologist). He was up to date on Brooke's case, when he walked in he looked at Steve and I, looked at Brooke, and said "she's really short." Yup, she is :) We've been under the assumption that it's from her meds, however she has been on low dose steroids since October. So his feeling is something "else" is going on. So the search is on as to why Brooke is not growing. Some doctors still say it's the meds. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Our main concern is to manage her feedings so that she doesn't gain too much weight, since she's not getting taller. We're just trying to keep her proportional :) The MD's can figure out her height (or lack there of) and let us know. That can be fixed with growth hormones, so even if we don't find out "why" I'm not too concerned. It's just how Brooke does things. :) Otherwise her clinic appointment went well, she's even starting to stand up on her own!!! We use to have to stand her up, but she's pulling herself up. What a woman!!

Next, it's Steve's birthday today!!!!!!!!! Yea, he's 37. Unfortunately he is working a ton so the girls don't get to spend the day with him but we made him a cake and ate it for breakfast, and snack and any other time we feel cake would be good. Steve is also eating cake in the tractor. You gotta love cake!!!!!!! We'll have plenty of time to celebrate when he's not so busy.
Last but not least........it seems I've found myself a situation. I've been dealing with thyroid issues for awhile. This week we found out the biopsy came back cancer. Sooooooooo, with that said. I'm fine :) I feel fine, I act fine (normal for me), I'm not crying constantly, nothing has changed :) Thyroid cancer is a great cancer to have if you're going to have one. So, I am very excited about choosing the right one :) The plan (in my head) is to have surgery and carry on with life. Cancer of the thyroid is usually contained to that area and doesn't spread. We meet with the surgeon tomorrow and hopefully will know more then. Timing is everything and this is not a good time :) (for us) No one said our timing was everything, this is God's timing, so it is perfect and we will do what is asked of us. Someone asked, "what more can the Koeman's take?" Who knows! God wouldn't allow this to happen if we couldn't do it, so I have utmost confidence we can do this. (with the help of many friends and family) We'll keep you all posted and appreciate all your prayers.
