We get into town and there is a loud noise. Everyone was like, "what was that!" Steve and I didn't see anything but it was obvious we rode over something. The tire check light came on and I looked in my mirror. Yup, flat tire. Oh boy! At this point we could make light of the situation or be irritated. We chose to laugh! It was apparent that God had other plans for us this morning. Some people from church saw us, stopped and offered to shuttle us to church, but we decided the girls might want to see this. So church was set up in a parking lot, watching dad change the tire.
After about 5 minutes of being there, Brooke says, "I have to poop." Well, fancy that! She typically means right now! So a few of us girls head to the store across the street to borrow the facilities, while dad continued the tire changing process.
Tada! A funny little tire til we can get ours fixed. The girls were a little sad we didn't make it to church. But I told them, sometimes God gives us life lessons and today this was God's plan.
I must say, I was most proud of my husband. Back in the day this would have more than irritated him. Especially since we had no clue where the spare tire was and the fact I keep a small household of supplies in my van. But he change the tire with grace and composure. (He even kept the church clothes clean)
Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go: I will counsel you and watch over you.
