Koeman Craft day!

Monday was President's day.  No school.  The kids had planned on it and it was fine.  Tuesday was a school day.  Due to the weather there was a 2 hour delay.  Usually I love having the kids home, but they'd been at each other throats and I was ready for the bus to take them away.  But I could survive 2 hours.  Then the cancellation came.  FOR REAL!!!  Please understand, I am by no means questioning the schools decision.  The roads were bad, they made the right decision.  We just had a little cabin fever over here.
After my sulking and a run (that the children got threatened, "I dare you to bug me while I'm running!") a thought came to me, crafts.  Who doesn't love a good craft?  We got pictures hung that we had painted and mod podged.
Megan has a quilt being sown.
And the girls took a box, made a shadow puppet box where they put on puppet shows for the twins.  If it could be cut, hot glued or sown it was.
All in all, it was a great day.  This morning I had so many ideas for another snow day, but the kids are at school, so I will be sewing by myself.

Nothing to new.  The 3 youngest girls are in swimming lessons.  That hasn't worked so well for Brooke.  She's always been cold.  Even in Florida she wore a winter coat.  But after 2 weeks of swimming, (screaming the water is cold the whole time), then her hands and feet turning blue and white, then screaming about the pain in her hands and feet (when the circulation returns), I called the MD to make sure I was doing the right thing about making her take these.  I'm not hard core about swimming lessons, I am hard core about not quiting.  If we start something we finish!  Well, the MD said we are making it worse by continual exposure to the cold, so she shouldn't be taking them.
She does the same thing when she plays outside, hence she doesn't play outside (she last 5 minutes before the crying in pain from cold starts).  It's' called Raynauds.  Not a huge deal, nothing really to fix it, hopefully she'll grow out of it at some point in her life.  I was hoping all the bacon she eats would fatten her up and warm her up.  Oh well, maybe we'll ship her to Florida with Grandma Blueberry :)  (In her and Grandma's dreams hehe, we love her too much to let her leave.)
