Today I read a devotion that said, "Maybe God just has suction cups on His feet?" That's why the timing is so slow. That made me smile. I know God's timing is perfect but yet I know that feeling as well.
Just yesterday I placed Brooke on the scale, an ugly scene that plays out quit often. Not ugly to weigh Brooke, but being 4 years old, you can't just weigh her, we have to weigh the whole family. There are no secrets in this house. This also makes me aware the scale is not broken. Every one's weight is staying the same, but Brooke is steadily declining again. SERIOUSLY!!!! We were so excited to be 33# and just like that, back down to 29#. GRRRRRRRRRRRR! Now if my weight was down 4# you'd see the happy dance, but that isn't the case.
In my head, I just want someone to come to my door and hand me the manual to Brooke. Tell me what's happening in that little body. She looks good on the outside, she's a loud, crazy, witty kid. What does the inside look like? She eats enough bacon to case a heart attack, where is it going?
So we trudge on. Brooke is ADAMANT about not being tube fed, so I told her we'd keep trying. She's drinking more Pediasure again (even though it doesn't appear to agree with her tummy). It's just constant mind games with a 4 year old about food.
My devotions said, "pray for healing? Yes. Hate the disease? Yes. .............Then we wait on God. Even when He's slow to answer, the glory is there. Through our trust, He is glorified and we are saved."
Psalm 73:23 "Yet I am with you: you hold me by me right hand."
