So, it always sounds good to go away. The fun, sun, sleep, ice cream (We really like ice cream) and I now have a new appreciation for my mother. We went to Florida regularly. She packed, we had a great time and she unpacked. It's alot of work! We are trying to fit 7 people in 2 rubbermaid tubs. (not the actual people but our stuff :) I did tell our children if we don't have enough room they will ride in there. (I'm kidding :)
I find it interesting you never hear people talk about their rides on vacation. You see pictures of their "vacation" but NEVER the ride. So I started asking, "how do you do this?" I got LOTS of laughter and some great advise. My goal is this...1.to take pictures of the ride. Chaos is funny. (after the fact not during) 2. to arrive in Florida with 5 children. I don't want to set the standard to high and be disappointed, so if I cannot accomplish these 2 things I have issues. Our obstacles that I ask for prayers for are; Brooke cannot be in hotel's, restaurants, stores or public places. So we need a smooth ride and nice weather so we can be outside to eat and let the girls stretch. Our other options are to break rules or 1 of us stays in the van with Brooke. Either which way, God will show us what we need to do.
Brooke did well Monday. Labs are ok. I got her med list and an updated synopsis of her condition to take with us. I answered ALL the questions the MD had. We called the IV supply company to get all her meds and IV's delivered before we leave, and I researched the nearest hospital and MD's (not that we will need them :) It is slightly nerve racking to be leaving our comfort zone. As I sometimes complain about being on "house arrest" it's comforting. We know where everything is and we know we are close to her MD's. So here's to adventures!
(I bet you all are REALLY excited to see pictures of the inside of our van :) We'll keep ya posted.
