Day 2 at home!

Last night Steve and I went to bed and sighed... "second night, here we go." She has done well at night, sleeping 5-6 hours at a time. She is happy during the day, sits up and plays. Macy seems to think Brooke is doll and can't get enough of her. Brooke now cries when she see's Macy coming. Last night Megs was holding Brooke and she was smiling and laughing. Meg said, "so is this what Brooke is like." It really hit me, the girls do not know Brooke. For 5 months she has not been part of their life, however they are so excited to get to know her, love her and be with her.

I thought being at the hospital took organization, I was so wrong! Being home takes MAJOR organization. I talked to my mom Tuesday morning and pretty much just said "HELP!" All the boxes of supplies, formula, syringes, dressing changes, tube feedings, all piled in my living room and kitchen. So we got LOTS of organizational bins and seperated everything and labeled it. In the morning I mix all her feedings and get all her meds ready for the day. That at least free's up some time in between her schedule. I also have my trusty spreadsheets. So all in all, I think we are doing well. Every one is happy, smiling and cared for. That's all that matters. I am going to try and work Thursday afternoon and this weekend. That will be another test, but so far so good. Steve has been planting some, now we just need to ward off the rain.

Today we are at clinic. Her blood pressure is a little high, probably from the steroids. We'll need to watch that. The other levels we were checking look great! Which means we get to go home and not wait for an Albumin infusion. That's amazing!! She's been getting that every other day. Ashley asked if we were coming home after clinic. I told her "yes." She said "well, last time Brooke went to clinic she didn't come home." That was a VERY LONG clinic appointment :) Gotta love kids!!! Today felt like a "normal" day. It felt reallt good. God has blessed us more than imaginable. Keep smiling!
