Brooke and daddy before surgery.Brooke's surgery got moved to 11am today and it took about 2 hours. They said all went well, no surprises. She is now sporting a "button" in her belly which we will hopefully start feeding her through tomorrow. No more tubes in her nose so we get to see that beautiful face. And no more vomiting. We pray she doesn't feel nauseated and this just fixes things.
Last night Steve and I were both home and got to go to Ashley's school program. Aunt Lisa stayed with Brooke. Ashley was SOOO proud and her big sisters were great to cheer her on. Later at night friends from church stopped by. Their daughter also has a feeding tube and has had medical "issues." It was a total God thing that they came over. It was so nice to talk to someone else that has been through so much and listen to their advice. Thank you Driasma's!
Today while we were waiting for surgery our friend came up and made us laugh til we cried. Time went so fast. We actually had a great day and a great time waiting. Thanks Missi!
Thanks also to everyone for all the phone calls, emails, cards, and my parents for taking the girls the past 2 nights! We pray this is a step in the right direction. Brooke has been here for 19 1/2 weeks and to our surprise it has gone by fast. We don't know where the time went. God is our comfort and great healer. He has given us an inner peace that we can't describe. No matter the outcome we draw our strength and comfort from Him. He will see us through.
