We are HOME!! With Miss Brooke of course :) They have been planning it since Thursday but we didn't believe it til we were in the car. It took all day to get out of the hospital, by the time we got all the equipment set up and the medications. Brooke has been so excited she hasn't napped all day! We took her out into the hallway at the hospital and she looked scared. She hadn't seen so many people in months. She will still have IV's and tube feedings at home but I already have the spread sheets started. The staff made Brooke a sign and we gave them goodies. We had a few tears. Happy ones to be leaving and and sad because we will miss them all. They have become such a huge part of our lives.
Walking in the house was amazing! All of our girls under one roof. It feels so good!!! I couldn't help but cry as did Leah. We've waited so long for this. My parents helped out with the girls tonight, Steve's parents came to visit as did Jon and Cassie. Brooke did so well. Macy scooted over to Brooke, took off her socks and tried to bite her toes :) Out of love, I'm sure. The Home Health nurse came and dropped off all the supplies. When I say all I mean, ALL. Wow, it's a bit overwhelming to think of everything that needs to be done, but once we are organized it will all work out. Now the REAL work begins. We still have to go to Grand Rapids 2-3 days a week but at least a majority of our time will be home. As I type Brooke is alseep in my arms, and the other 4 girls are in their beds. It all feels so right! As Ashley said, "thank you God that you do miracles."
