Praise the Lord for insurance!

I have wondered the last few months why I work! I am a slight control freak and I like to do everything myself. If I'm told it can't be done, I will find a way. So leaving Brooke during the day is hard at times because I want to do things myself. (Even though my mom probably does it better than me :) Anyway, I got a statement in the mail that reminded me WHY I work. It's from Spectrum, Name is Brooke (of course), charges are $617,552.60. Amount I owe. $0.00!
YEAH GOD!!!! Wow does He provide for us or what!!! Those charges are from Dec to May. So, people ask, is she the million dollar baby? Not yet but she's on her way and worth every penny.

I've also realized people ask us and our parents questions, maybe I should post them sometimes. If you ever wonder something about Brooke or us please ask. We have obviously brought all of you into our journey, we want to answer questions you have about her.
The main question is.... Is she going to be alright, in the long run? In the begining of all this we were told 90% chance after transplant she would be fine. It has gotten more complicated since then. No percentages are given out anymore. Overall the doctor feels yes, she will rally through and go to Kindegarten with Macy, eating like a normal 5 year old. In me and Steve's heart, we don't go there. We enjoy every day with her and take the challenges as they come. God gave us grace for the day sometimes hour and that is what we cling to. Now that she is home we treat her just like the other girls. Now that isn't a straight forward answer, but Brooke isn't always straight forward. If there are things that I don't write on the blog or that you wonder feel free to email me or comment on the blog and I'll try to answer. Also if you see us out and about, feel free to stop us and say "hi." We want all of you to see the little miracle you've been praying for.

Thanks for all the meals and continued prayers.

Hi Shelly:

When Sadie had her transplant at (9 weeks old), we were given 67% odds that she would survive her first year. She turned 15 in February. We never put any "stock" in percentages.

Jesus told us not to worry about tomorrow for a reason! We have really tried to live one day at a time, just as you are doing.

I am so thankful that Brooke was able to come home. We had computer problems for about five weeks, so I have been "out of touch" with how Brooke is doing.

We just came back last week from a couple days at Sadie's hospital, Children's Memorial, in Chicago. We received encouraging news.

You certainly do have GREAT insurance.

With care and prayers,
